Strictly Come Dancing: Charlotte Hawkins comforted by Jeremy Kyle as she learns odds LIVE

Charlotte, 42, confirmed her addition to the Strictly Come Dancing line-up yesterday, but was confused when Good Morning Britain showbiz reporter Richard Arnold, 47, revealed how she fared against her competitors, according to bookmakers.

After the full Strictly line-up was finally announced during last night’s The One Show, Charlotte is currently among the favourites to lift the Glitterball trophy with odds of 16/1.

“This is great,” Richard enthused. “After our twirl on the floor yesterday, you’re already at a respectable sixth place.”

However, Charlotte didn’t seem impressed and sighed: “I honestly don’t know how they work that out.”

Jeremy, 52, who is standing in for Piers Morgan, 52, over the summer holidays, waded in to comfort the news reporter: “The odds will come down. She’ll be at 12/1 by the end of the week.”

After keeping her Strictly secret well under wraps, Charlotte was delighted to finally share her very exciting news on GMB yesterday.

“I am so thrilled to be one of the contestants on Strictly this year,” she beamed. “I’ve always been a big fan of the show. It is a dream come true to be taking part and I’ll be following in the footsteps of my Good Morning Britain colleagues.”
