Strictly Come Dancing’s latest line-up is still a while away from being announced by the BBC, but many names have already been thrown in the mix.
Now, former Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt, 23, may have all but confirmed that she’s taking on the highly-coveted role.
An active poster on social media, the star took the opportunity to post a tantalising tease about her next project on her Twitter account.
She said: “Just realised I’ve spent two hours on the train watching old Strictly Come Dancing clips.
“I’ve watched that many I’ve choreographed a Charleston in my head.”
She made sure to include a number of laughing emojis in her post, but the evidence seemed clear.
Excited fans flocked to the comments to share their thoughts on the cryptic clue.
One person wrote: “That’s Strictly for you then Miss Moffatt @bbcstrictly !! #yougogirl.”
“I think it might be worth a small bet that you are in this year’s line up,” another speculated.
A third asked: “Does this mean you’re on Strictly so no I’m A Celeb this year?”
While a fourth suggested that Scarlett’s Saturday Night Takeaway co-star should take a punt on the ballroom dancing competition as well.
“Maybe you should give it a try and put Dec’s name forward too,” they said. “He can really shake his tush! Saturday Night showed us that.”
“I think you’re watching it to get some tips for the next series,” another convinced fan suggested.
Other rumblings have hinted that various television personalities are also in the pipeline for a spin across the dance floor.
Possibilities include 80s legend Anneka Rice, reality star Joey Essex, and Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley who is confirmed to be leaving her role on the ITV soap later this year.
Amid the furore, BBC producers are reportedly struggling to replace original professional Brendan Cole.
The 41-year-old New Zealand dancer has been on the show for 13 years but was dropped by the show last month in a heartbreaking twist.
According to show insiders, Brendan’s height has proved a problem to try and replicate.
“Bosses need a tall dancer to pair up with taller females like Charlotte Hawkins on the show,” a source told The Sun. “But have been really struggling to find one.
“Many of the show’s professionals may look tall and hunky on screen, but in reality they’re often a lot shorter.”
Strictly Come Dancing will return to BBC One later this year.
