As fans of the BBC talent show know, Sunday’s results show is filmed directly after Saturday’s live show, meaning that those in the audience are aware of who is eliminated before the general public.
As Simon Rimmer performed an emotional Waltz to Liverpool Football Club’s anthem, You’ll Never Walk Alone, his Sunday Brunch co-host, Tim Lovejoy, was watching from the side of the Strictly ballroom.
On today’s Sunday Brunch, Tim had to stop himself from revealing whether Simon, 54, got through, saying: “Can I tell you something really funny?
“At the end of the show, I was asking him: ‘How do you feel? How do you feel?’ And then he… Oh no, I can’t say! I’ll tell you next week.
“I’m so glad I stopped myself,” he joked, while holding his chest in relief.
Although he managed to stop himself at the time, it seemed that his loose lips were being tested, as later on in the show he said to his colleague: “So you know what you’re dancing next week?”
The Strictly Come Dancing competitor was quick to shut down any further speculation, telling Tim: “I’m not allowed to say. I don’t know if I’m through next week.”
Will the chef get through to next week, or will he be the first eliminated as the current odds suggest?
Simon’s performance was certainly an emotional one, as judge Shirley Ballas broke down whilst delivering her feedback about the Waltz.
Choking up, the 57-year-old said: “I’m not going to go with the technique today, I’m going to go with the emotional feeling.
“You danced to a very important piece of music and that piece of music means so much to so many people for so many reasons.”
The Strictly Come Dancing results show airs tonight on BBC One at 7.15pm.
