The 59-year-old blonde beauty has taken Strictly Come Dancing by storm since the beginning of the series, wowing both the judges and viewers at home with her amazing technical ability and flexible moves.
Now Debbie McGee has spoken out about the key to achieving her high scores, admitting that it’s the connection with her professional partner Giovanni Pernice, 27, that brings her success.
“I don’t have any rituals when we dance,” she told The Mirror. “I just look into Giovanni’s eyes and that is it.
“I don’t think about anything else except the dance,” she added.
Debbie’s triumphant performances week-on-week come at a price, however, as it seems that the tough schedule of Strictly training is giving the former magician’s assistant some sleepless nights.
“I am not sleeping that well if I am honest,” she admitted. “The last few nights I have had five or six hours.”
But the gushing praise from the judges and her close friendship with Giovanni more than make up for any lack of sleep, as the Strictly frontrunner opened up about the praise she has been receiving from the panel.
