The pair lost out to Gemma Atkinson and Aljaž Škorjanec when they landed in the bottom two and faced the dreaded dance off.
Mollie’s problems came when she made a mistake during her Waltz after failing to impress with her Samba earlier in the show.
The 30-year-old found comfort in her professional partner, AJ, 23, who consoled her backstage.
The pair – who have been surrounded by romance rumours of late – were caught in a cute embrace.
AJ told his girl backstage: “I am so proud of you. So proud. You train the hardest and you train the most out of anyone.
I know you want to do more of this and more… It didn’t help that you got destroyed in the Samba.
“You picked yourself up and you got yourself out there, so well done,” he comforted.
Mollie, who said she got herself in “a bit of a state”, thanked her partner for making her feel better.
Following their Strictly Come Dancing exit, Mollie and AJ have been gushing about each other on social media.
Mollie posted a cute pic of the pair on Instagram, along with the quote: “AJ, I don’t even know where to begin. I have felt like the luckiest girl in the world being able to dance in your arms every Saturday night.
“I can’t even begin to thank you enough for everything you have done. You are absolutely magical.
“And of course, thank you so so much to every single one of you who voted us through this far. It has been a complete dream getting to the semi finals and we wouldn’t have been able to do any of this without you.”
Strictly Come Dancing continues next Saturday on BBC One at 6.30pm.
