Appearing on spin-off It Takes Two tonight, the dancer admitted that she thought Craig Revel Horwood had called her and Joe McFadden’s routine “stupid” live on the BBC series.
The hard-to-please judge had left the 28-year-old lost for words for all the wrong reasons when he called their Quickstep, “stupendous”.
Host Zoe Ball asked their pair about their feedback and Katya explained all: “Well, I’m happy you clarified.
“Being a foreigner, when I heard Craig saying ‘stupendous’, I thought it was something to do with stupid.”
Actor Joe, who will this week take on the Samba, laughed: “She didn’t know what it meant! Aw,” as she continued: “I went really quiet. Was it good or not?”
“It was a really good thing!” the 42-year-old reiterated, before she added: “Great, I’m really happy.”
“I can see where that mistake could come from,” Zoe, 47, backed her up, after leaving her hunky companion red-faced.
The star complimented him not once but twice during their chat and many at home quickly agreed with her on Twitter.
“Joe are you looking more handsome than ever today? Or is it the tan? I like it,” Zoe started.
Two users tweeted: “@mrjoemcfadden in a suit and that tan, now I get the dark horse comment #ItTakesTwo #Strictly,” and: “#ITTakesTwo Joe McFadden has the most beautiful eye lashes… totally mesmerizing!”
Strictly Come Dancing continues tomorrow at 7.05pm on BBC One.
