Piers Morgan, 52, and Susanna Reid, 46, comforted their Good Morning Britain co-presenter as she discussed being kicked off the much-love dancing show, with Piers insisting that he’ll “cha-cha with her until her heart’s content”.
As a tearful Charlotte wiped her eyes and said “I have got my tissues with me, it’s a sad day,” Piers told her: “Listen, I’m here for you which is the good news,” as Susanna insisted: “No that’s the bad news, I’m here for you which is the good news.”
Piers then went on: “Also, if you’re missing the dancing I’ve got a clear afternoon.”
But an unsure Charlotte moaned: “Thanks for that, not sure it’ll be quite the same…” while Susanna could be heard chirping in in the background: “Or if you want to sink a bottle of wine I’m also available.”
Piers then awkwardly hugged Charlotte and said: “I’m a very good shoulder to cry on, I’m here for you.”
Piers has certainly made his feelings known since Charlotte was booted out last night, with him blasting judge Shirley Ballas after she got the presenter’s name wrong on Saturday night’s show.
Retweeting a post confirming the 42-year-old’s exit, Piers wrote to his six million followers expressing his anger.
He raged: “WHAT?????? Ridiculous decision. She was improving every week.
“I blame Shirley ‘Well, Mollie’ Ballas – had it in for them from the start.”
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV. Strictly Come Dancing returns on Saturday at 6.35pm on BBC One.
