The former magician’s assistant landed a whopping 39 points for her Charleston this evening, scoring tens from every Strictly Come Dancing judge apart from Craig Revel-Horwood, 52.
Shirley Ballas, 57, even leapt out of her seat to hand Debbie McGee her “Latin crown”.
After Debbie ditched her dress and flashed her underwear, the crowd went wild. But she didn’t just earn the best score of the night, bookies have dramatically slashed her odds to lift the Glitterball trophy.
The 58-year-old’s odds have been whittled from 7-1 down to 5-1, narrowly chasing frontrunner Aston Merrygold, 29, and Alexandra Burke, 29, who both share odds of 5-1, while Gemma Atkinson, 32, is eyeing third place at 4-1.
“Debbie McGee is starting to scare the bookmakers as this gamble behind her and Giovanni is making us look like we have seen a ghost. The former magician’s assistant once again impressed therefore we have slashed her odds once more,” said Coral’s John Hill.
“Aston is back at the top of the betting alongside Alexandra after he ended the show with a trick and treat, while Gemma continues to attract her supporters to lift the Glitterball Trophy.”
However, on the other end of the spectrum, Simon Rimmer, 54, looks likely to follow Brian Conley, 56, out of the door.
“The betting suggests Simon Rimmer is in for a nasty surprise this Halloween weekend as he is long odds-on to be the latest contestant to depart the series,” Hill added.
What’s more, Simon angered viewers tonight after he ate chicken during his performance.
Strictly Come Dancing continue tomorrow at 7.15pm on BBC One.
