Luckily, the 45-year-old presenter was only joking as Shirley, 57, gave a demonstration of the Volta step in the Samba as she explained Susan Calman and Kevin Clifton’s dance.
She got up and showed how the move was supper to be done, carefully lifting up the skirts of her floor-length white gown.
“She almost look like she was taking off. Susan or the dancer doesn’t need to now,” she told Claudia as she started to sashay out of the room.
Claudia looked slightly concerned as Shirley went off camera and seemed to be disappearing from the studio altogether.
“I thought you were going to leave the studio!” Claudia said, she quickly added: “Come back!”
She continued: “There was a slight panic, I was worried that we’ve lost her.”
The judging panel burst in laughter as Shirley promptly took her seat back on sofa and the interview continued.
Along with Shirley making some fast moves out of the Strictly Come Dancing studio, fellow judge Craig Revel Horwood also hit out at professional Brendan Cole.
The notoriously tough judge, 52, hit out at Brendan, 41, who made a misstep during a Tango with his celebrity partner Charlotte Hawkins on the BBC programme yesterday.
“Brendan, of course, on Saturday night did do another illegal lift but then he’s famous for going against the rules in that way,” Craig told a stunned Claudia, 45.
His words comes after an awkward spat broke out between Shirley and Brendan live on the show.
Strictly Come Dancing continues on BBC One next Saturday at 7.15pm.
