Twin brothers Matt and Ross Duffer have helmed the 80s nostalgia trip Stranger Things since the hugely popular series debuted on Netflix in 2016. The wait for the fourth exciting instalment still continues, and The Duffer Brothers have teased they already have an ending in mind.
Many subscribers were anticipating Stranger Things to continue indefinitely until the writers eventually ran out of steam, as is the case with many popular television shows.
Thankfully, the series’ co-creators have confirmed that won’t be the case, and explained they have a definitive ending in mind for the science fiction thriller.
Netflix’s most popular drama series features super powered teen Eleven (played by Millie Bobby Brown) and her friends in Hawkins battling against supernatural threats.
Season one kicked off the story with a gripping mystery when young high schooler Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) was abducted by a sinister alternate dimension known as the Upside Down.

The latest outing ramped up the action as the series moved into the Cold War and the kids and grown-ups investigated a covert Soviet operation beneath the Starcourt Mall.
Season three concluded when Hawkins Sheriff Jim Hopper (David Harbour) was caught in a devastating explosion, though a recent teaser trailer confirmed he survived and is being held in a Russian prison.
With both Netflix and the Duffer Brothers keeping the show’s secrets close to the chest, the Stranger Things fandom has been going wild with speculation.
In an exclusive interview with Deadline, the show’s masterminds explained how much of the show’s future has already been mapped out.
It still remains unclear whether Netflix will finish the show with the fourth season, or if Stranger Things will continue with a fifth and sixth instalment.
However, the recent interview confirmed whatever the future of the series has in store it will eventually come to a satisfying close.
Even though many mysteries remained unsolved by the end of season one, the Duffer Brothers revealed they weren’t sure if Stranger Things would be renewed for another round.
Matt continued: “I mean, the honest truth is, we didn’t know if we would go beyond season one. So we liked the idea that season one could function as its own standalone limited series, but it had the potential to go beyond that.”
