It’s now just two months until the latest Star Wars spin-off arrives.
Solo has been through some production problems, with original directors Chris Miller and Phil Lord being fired for creative differences with Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy.
Ron Howard was brought on to complete the reshoots, but it’s still uncertain just how fans and critics will react to the Han Solo prequel.
Now an actor on the film, who chose to remain anonymous, has spoken with Vulture about the production issues.
On Alden Ehrenreich taking on a younger version of Ford’s character, the source claimed he couldn’t quite capture the part.
The insider said: “Trying to mimic Harrison Ford is really tough.
“Lucasfilm wanted something very specific: copying someone else. Alden’s not a bad actor, just not good enough.
“You could see his acting became more relaxed. He became more Harrison-like. The coach helped!”
Meanwhile the actor opened up about Miller and Lord’s directing, saying it became “weird.”
They added: “Phil and Chris are good directors, but they weren’t prepared for Star Wars.
“After the 25th take, the actors are looking at each other like, This is getting weird. [Lord and Miller] seemed a bit out of control.
“They definitely felt the pressure; with one of these movies, there are so many people on top of you all the time.
“The first assistant director was really experienced and had to step in to help them direct a lot of scenes.”
