The actor seemed to make his exit from the Star Wars saga in last year’s The Last Jedi, prompting speculation that he could jump to Marvel’s MCU.
Now, after he was spotted hanging out with Guardians director James Gunn, he’s revealed if they did in fact talk about him signing up.
“We didn’t talk about a movie,” he told Collider.
“We talked about living in Malibu, our relatives and pets. It never really came up.
“But that’s the way it should be, I don’t want to strong-arm him [Gunn] in any way.
“I love the movies, they’re fun, but I’m happy to be in the audience.
“There’s a lot less pressure, that’s why I liked Solo [A Star Wars Story] and Rogue One so much – there was one hundred percent less Hamill.
“So I didn’t have any sort of anxiety, I could just be in the audience, it was great.”
He did however joke with the interviewer: “If you have any friends at Disney, pull some strings.”
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 will mark the end of Gunn’s trilogy.
It comes after the huge success of the first two films, and the characters’ crossover into Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4.
Meanwhile, the Star Wars series continues apace with the release of Episode 9 in 2019.
JJ Abrams is back on board to direct, after Rian Johnson helmed The Last Jedi.
Johnson is now working on his own, new Star Wars trilogy.
