Star Wars: Carrie Fisher's death 'TOTALLY changed Episode 9' WHAT was the original plot?

The head of Lucasfilm has revealed that plans and storylines for Episode 9 were already in place before Fisher’s shock passing.

Kathleen Kennedy admitted today that Disney and the filmmakers had to drop everything they had already prepared.

Kenendy said: “Obviously, with Carrie having passed away, it shook everybody. We pretty much started over.”

BUt what does that mean and how much did it change what was already in place for Episodes 8 and 9?

There was talk following the actress’ death in December that digital effects would be used to recreate Leia for the final movie.

Kenendy has been very clear that this will not happen.

This week in an interview, Fisher’s brother, Todd, also said that the family had given permission for existing footage to be spliced into Episode 9.

Kennedy clarified the situation to Good Morning America: “Sadly, Carrie will not be in nine, but we will see a lot of Carrie in eight.”

There is enormous speculation about what role Leia will play in The Last Jedi. It is generally accepted that she will play a far larger and more pivotal role than she did in The Force Awakens, as Leia rallies the galaxy against the First Order.

A new leak has revealed that , possibly when the Resistance forces attack Crait.

There is also a worry that

Recent comments by Disney CEO Bob Iger also raised worrieds that Leia may not survive at the end of the movie.

Iger confirmed that no changes had been made to the plot of The Last Jedi to accommodate Fisher’s death.

This possibly implies that Leia may have already met a final end and would not have been required in Episode 9.

Either way, Kennedy was full of priase for the work Fisher completed on The Last Jedi.

The Lucasfilm boss simply said: “She’s fantastic.”
