Star Wars 9 title ‘leak’: Latest rumour – is THIS the name of JJ Abrams’ trilogy finale?

The film’s name is widely believed to finally be unveiled on Friday at Star Wars Celebration, a huge fan event in Chicago.

Over recent months, multiple rumoured titles have surfaced online and been analysed by fans.

Of course, without any official news from Disney or LucasFilm, all of them have had to be taken with a huge pinch of salt – and it’ll likely be Friday before we know what exactly the real moniker is.

But has the name of Episode 9 leaked a few days early?

Following previous alleged leaked titles including Skywalkers and The Last Hope, this latest one is Star Wars: Will of the Force.

It was posted on Reddit overnight by user arsonak45, who added: “This image does not belong to me, was not created by me, etc. etc. I just found it and wanted to share.”

The image is essentially the unauthorised concept poster, which caused minor ripples online late last month; now with Will Of The Force added.

The majority of fans on the Reddit thread are unconvinced by the claim.

At time of writing, the post has been only 32% Upvoted – indicating the fanbase is not buying the title.

“For what it’s worth, this popped up the same day the poster leaked. So odds are it’s a fan edit that someone made quickly to cash in on the hype,” one person said.

Another wrote: “[The poster that] got leaked was clearly an unfinished version based on Rey’s lightsaber, so this having the same problem solidifies it as fake for me.”

“Would be a cool title, but that’s probably just the leaked promo poster edited in Photoshop and printed. Nice try though,” said a third.

Star Wars Celebration’s Episode 9 panel is on Friday – at 5pm UK time – and will be streamed online.

In an interview published yesterday, JJ Abrams said the movie is “incredibly special”.

A teaser trailer is also thought to be unveiled on Friday, but this has not been confirmed.

Star Wars 9 is out on December 19 in the UK.
