Star Wars 9 leak: Kylo Ren and a NEW superweapon? Fans are NOT impressed

We had a Death Star. Then another Death Star. Then a Death Star by another name, Star Killer Base.

Is the franchise really going to bring it all to a grand finale with yet another planet-destroying weapon?

As more leaks and reports continue to emerge from the Episoed 9 production, there has been a new description of concept art for a devastatingly powerful weapon.

Not only will this potentially frustrate many fans, the use of it would surely put Kylo Ren well beyond hope of any possible redemption…

Of course, take any such reports with a large pinch of salt, but the description sounds ominous.

The leak said: “Specifically, a description of Kylo Ren inside his throne room, assumed to be the headquarters of the First Order, viewing a holgram form a device held in his hand.

“Kylo appears to be examining three large superweapons that are in a cyllindrical shape with an enormous engine on each side of each superweapon of this ship/weapon, destroying terrain on a planet. The engine burner is coloured red and the blast from the bottom of these three massive weapons is coloued blue, impacting a surface causing astronomical destruction. Parts of the weapon seem to be under consruction and not finished.”

One commentator immediately suggested these could be the World Devastators fom the Star Wars Legends comics Dark Empire storyline.

These superweapons used tractor beam technology and could sweep across worlds and destroy entire cities with ease. Of course, nothing from Legends is currently Canon, but new and old elements are always being brought in.

Perhaps Kylo is building new terrifying weapons or he is searching through old records and holograms for information and old weapon technology? Is he is watching a live report of new military operation or a old hologram from the Empire.

It is now known that the huge weapon that was used to destroy the doors of the rebel base on Crait was actually using Death Star technology. Have Kylo and the First Order been salvaging old Imperial tech and updating and making it even more powerful?

More importantly, do fans really want another superweapon. The Death Star storyline of Episode 4 was so closely followed with Starkiller Base in Episode 7, and many fans have made it clear they do not simply want a rehash of Episode 6 al over again in the final film.

Responses to this latest leak were almost unanimous and included:

“Here we go, Death Star 4.

“Please not another Death Star, it’s getting old.”

“Empire Strikes Back didn’t have a super weapon and regarded as the saga’s best film. World Devastators sound interesting from Dark Empire.”

“I’m just a little fed up with super weapons to tell you the truth. I would much rather have a standard military engagement. But that’s real warfare. Armies usually come up with big and powerful weapons.”
