Splatoon 2 Splatfest COUNTDOWN: Time and date confirmed for Nintendo Switch demo

 owners are gearing up for this weekend’s Splatoon 2 demo, as the countdown to the global Splatfest begins.

Taking place on Saturday, July 15, the Splatoon 2 Splatfest has a 5pm start time in the UK. It runs until 9pm that same night.

Over in the US, the Splatoon 2 demo runs from 3-7pm PT, or 6-10pm ET.

In preparation for the free beta, fans can pre-load Splatoon 2 now from the Nintendo Switch eShop.

Once the demo is downloaded, players can choose to join Team Cake or Team Ice Cream, as Nintendo attempts to find out which is best.

The Splatoon 2 Splatfest will give gamers the chance to try a selection of Splatoon 2’s new weapons and stages.

In terms of maps, the Starfish Mainstage and Inkblot Art Academy arenas will be playable from 5-7pm, while Moray Towers and Humpback Pump Track join the fray at 7pm.

Weapon combinations include the Tentatek Splattershot, Splat Bomb and Inkjet; the Splat Roller, Curling Bomb and Splashdown; the Splat Charger, Splat Bomb and Sting Ray, plus the Splat Dualies, Burst Bomb and Tenta Missiles.

Players can also create their characters, deck them out in themed outfits and check out the main hub.

That’s on top of a quick tutorial to get players used to the controls.

Splatoon 2 features the return of multiplayer modes like Turf War, as well as a brand new wave-based survival mode called Salmon Run.

Supporting up to four players, Salmon Run tasks teams with defeating waves of enemies and bosses while collecting Power Eggs.

The full game makes its debut on July 21, exclusively for Nintendo Switch.
