Women in need of hormone replacement therapy to ameliorate severe symptoms of the menopause have faced supply issues for over a year.
There are now calls from doctors for the government to investigate why the shortages are still in effect.
In a letter to health secretary Matt Hancock, The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, the British Menopause Society, and the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare have detailed the length of time women have been struggling with the shortages.
There is now concern hormonal contraceptive supplies are also being affected by the shortages and the Loose Women panel decided to weigh in on the issue on ITV today.
