Siren season two premiered on American network Freeform on January 24, 2019, and first aired on this side of the pond on Thursday, February 14 on Syfy. As a result, the UK is a few episodes behind the US. Siren, formerly known as The Deep, has 16 episodes this time around and follows a mysterious girl (played by Eline Powell) who arrives in a seaside town where mermaid legends originate. Who is in the cast of Siren season 2?
Ryn Fisher – Eline Powell
Eline Powell plays Ryn Fisher in Siren season two, a young mermaid with a huge secret.
Powell is a 28-year-old Belgian actress, who attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London.
Her breakthrough role was in the Italian drama Anita B and at the 2014 Capri, Hollywood International Film Festival she was named that year’s “breakout” star.
She has gone on to appear in two episodes of Game of Thrones as Bianca.
Other roles include Noviciate and King Arthur: Legend of Sword.
Ben Pownall – Alex Roe
Alex Roe stars as Ben Pownall, a marine biologist who helped and befriended Ryn in season one when she came ashore in search of her sister.
Ben falls for Ryan due to her hypnotic siren song.
Roe is an English film and television actor, best recognised for playing Keaton in The Fugitives.
He is also well recognised for playing Elliot Baden in The Cut.
Roe has starred in a number of major films including Forever My Girl, Rings, Hot Summer Nights and The 5th Wave.
Xander McClure – Ian Verdun
Ian Verdun stars as Xander McClure, a deep-sea fisherman who is investigating the existence of mermaids.
Verdun has appeared in numerous tv shows in small roles including Life’s a Drag and Lucifer.
He is a graduate of the California Institute of Arts and the British Drama Academy according to IMDb.
Verdun is also a stage actor, performing and writing numerous plays in New York and Los Angeles.
Maddie Bishop – Fola Evans-Akingbola
Fola Evans-Akingbola stars as Maddie Bishop, a marine biologist and Ben’s (Alex Roe) ex-girlfriend.
Evans-Akingbola is from London and trained at the National Youth Theatre, Identity Drama School and the Actors’ Temple in London.
She has gone on to appear on Game of Thrones and Death in Paradise.
Evans-Akingbola is also a well-known theatre performing, previously appearing in School Play, written by Alex MacKeith.
Helen Hawkins – Rena Owen
Rena Owens plays Helen Hawkins in Siren season two, a woman who knows a lot more about mermaids than she lets on.
One is best known for playing Beth Heke in Once Were Warriors and voiced Taun We in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones.
The 56-year-old actress is from New Zealand and is also a write, director and producer.
