Shetland fans OUTRAGED as 'worst ever' BBC news overshadows drama: 'How could you?'

The BBC series aired its second instalment of the thrilling crime drama tonight, but hopes were dashed with the closing credits.

A voiceover announcement revealed that viewers will have to wait one extra day for the next offering of the Shetland aisles series.

The news comes because of a one-off scheduling conflict in the form of a major football game.

Tuesday night will see the FA cup final between Swansea City and Sheffield, meaning that unfortunately Shetland’s third episode will be pushed back.

As the news sank in, fans were left disappointed and forced to share their annoyance with the situation on Twitter.

One person wrote: “@djhenshall So there is no Shetland next Tuesday because @BBCScotland think I need to watch Swansea City v Sheffield Wednesday instead? Aye, right.”

“@djhenshall @AtotheOD – plot thickening nicely! But have to wait eight days for next episode. #Shetland,” another fan shared.

A third blasted: “This is an outrage, another day to wait for next week’s episode of Shetland what are you doing with your scheduling @BBC!

“What’s worse is I think my mum genuinely believes @AtotheOD has the power to change the air time ‘Just tweet Tosh it’ll be fine.'”

“Damn! I hate having to wait a week for the next episode of #Shetland but this week it’s worse….it’s a week AND A DAY!!!” a fourth cried.

Meanwhile, other viewers couldn’t help but notice an apparent blunder on the show.

Shetland locals are aware that the weather in Northern Scotland is rarely sunny, and more than that – the island suffers from ferocious winds.

But the series so far has shown mostly sunny calm days, leaving viewers baffled at the continuity.

One person said: “Dear @BBCOne continuity Shetland is not a tropical island. However I can tell you it appears to get lots of weather #Shetland.”

“Rather than spend time money on trendy sauf London voiceovers they could look up #Shetland on google earth,” another added.

Shetland continues Wednesday at 9pm on BBC One.
