Samantha Cameron – known fondly as Sam Cam – let cameras into her Cotswolds home recently to show fans how she and her husband David live.
The 46-year-old allowed magazine Harper’s Bazaar to show their readers inside her ‘sanctuary’.
David and Sam bought the cottage back in 2001 for £650,000. The leafy-green building and its land is now estimated to be worth an eye-watering £1.5 million.
Despite its price-tag, Sam described the house as “rotting, slightly falling down”.
She told the magazine: “To be honest, the house is slightly falling down.
“The windows are rotting, the roof needs replacing, but it’s lovely and it’s where we brought each of our children home from the hospital. It’s our family nest.”
Pictures released this morning show a beige sofa adorned with a luxury faux-fur throw.
An abundance of cushions and golden picture frames complete the cottage-style look of the house – although the 40-inch television is a rather modern touch.
The Camerons are believed to have bought the Cotswold cottage when David became MP for Witney, Oxfordshire, back in 2001.
Pictures of the house in the magazine show a beautiful orangery to one side of the property.
White wooden windows – bizarrely all open for the magazine photo shoot – are positioned perfectly to show off the three-storey property.
A huge rose bush turns the property from a countryside house into chocolate box cottage.
Sam is pictured sat outside her house enjoying a cup of tea in the garden.
The former creative director stationers Smythson is reportedly wearing clothing from her own collection, Cefinn, in the shot.
Speaking to the mag, she said: “I wanted to be an artist or a designer from an early age.
“In fact, my earliest memory is having the most terrible tantrum aged three when I insisted on wearing a beach dress to nursery school in the middle of winter, when it was snowing outside.”
Mrs Cameron admitted one of her fashion mentors was former American First lady Michelle Obama
The full interview appears in the September issue of Harper’s Bazaar, on sale August 4.
