Scarlett Moffatt ‘to front new prime-time series’ after Saturday Night Takeaway success

Since the Geordie lass was crowned Queen of the Jungle on on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! at the end of last year, the former Gogglebox star has been in high demand.

And after her successful debut at the weekend on Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, the 26-year-old will be fronting her own show.

Scarlett has reportedly been secretly filming a new pilot for Channel 4 called The Comedy Project, which is expect to air this year on Friday nights.

“Scarlett is now in huge demand from the TV industry. Channel 4 feel they created her through Gogglebox and don’t want to lose her to ITV,” a source told The Sun.

“She was the first celebrity who they approached to do the pilot for The Comedy Project, which is likely to become a big show for them.”

Shot at Pinewood Studios in front of a live audience, it is believed the brunette beauty appears in sketches alongside impressionists, improvisers and character comedians.

Scarlett has taken over from Ashley Roberts on Saturday Night Takeaway and has been praised for being “hilarious” on the show.

Her appearance on the long-running series helped ITV achieve its best ratings in 12 years with a peak live audience of 8.7 million.

Despite her recent success, her family will no longer be featured on the hit show Gogglebox.

Her absence was certainly noticed by fans as the new series aired, with many taking to social media to beg Channel 4 bosses to allow them to return.

One viewer tweeted: “It’s just really not the same without The Moffatts #Gogglebox.”

While another added: “GOGGLEBOX IS BACK #Gogglebox @C4Gogglebox but I’m so gutted that the Moffatt family isn’t on there anymore @ScarlettMoffatt (sic).”

Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway continues this Saturday on ITV at 7pm.

Express.co.uk have contacted Scarlett’s representative and Channel 4 for comment.
