The X Factor is back on screens with the latest Live Show tonight (November 10) at 8.30pm. Last week saw Molly Scott and United Vibe eliminated after they failed to impress the judges. Now just 10 acts remain in the competition. One of whom is singer Scarlett Lee.
Who is Scarlett Lee from The X Factor 2018? How old is she?
Scarlett Lee has proven herself to be a popular contestant on this year’s X Factor on ITV.
The makeup artist is aged 20 and from Surrey.
Like her fellow competitor Anthony Russell, Scarlett auditioned for the series in 2017 and made it through to the first round and on through to the Six Chair Challenge when she was sent home by former judge Sharon Osbourne.
Fans may remember Scarlett and her unique fake tan look she sported on the show last year.
This year she is in the Girls category mentored by Simon Cowell.
Scarlett said that being eliminated last year was “heartbreaking”.
“It was heartbreaking, it took me so long to get over but it’s only made me stronger,” she said at this year’s auditions.
“I hope Simon looks back and says ‘This girl has improved’… probably not, he’ll probably say ‘That’s the orange girl!’”
On returning to the competition this year, Scarlett has managed to impress the judges with her strong vocals, despite a shaky start in her first live audition.
After Simon told her to sing another song, she chose Never Enough from The Greatest Showman and got four messes.
Simon said at the time: “You are an amazing singer, it was magic. I’d love to be mentoring you on this show.”
In her personal life, Scarlett and her family had a lucky escape when their caravan burned down last month.
Scarlett Lee’s brother Benjamin, his wife Sharon and their four young children were lucky to be alive following the incident.
Scarlett was in the neighbouring caravan and damaged her eye trying help get the others out.
She has since struck up a friendship with former X Factor constant Jesy Nelson from Little Mix.
Last week for Fright Night, Scarlett delivered a showstopping performance of I Put A Spell on You by Screamin’ Jay Hawkins.
After a standing ovation from all four judges, Simon praised his new protege.
“That was the best performance you’ve done throughout the competition,” he said.
“You’re a total, total star – amazing.”
Louis Tomlinson said that everything about her performance was “brilliant” and Ayda Field said it was her best performance yet.
Bookmakers believe that Scarlett is in with a good chance of winning The X Factor this year.
Ladbrokes have the singer at odds of 4/1 to take home the top prize, one spot behind Dalton Harris at 11/10 odds.
Betfair also place Scarlett at 4/1 odds of winning.
