Ant has stepped down from his television commitments following his drink drive charge last month, with Dec presenting the last two instalments of Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway alone.
Once the cameras had stopped rolling on tonight’s final instalment of the ITV show, Dec made some touching remarks about his friend and colleague.
In a video obtained by The Sun, Dec can be seen on stage surrounded by characters from the theme park as he addresses the audience.
He said: “Thanks for all the love and support, it’s been a series tinged with… well…”
Someone in the crowd then shouted: “We miss Ant!”
Dec replied: “Yes, we do, we do. It’s tinged with sadness.”
The Geordie presenter then took the opportunity to pay tribute to Ant with the audience.
He asked: “Can you all give a one round of applause for Ant who is at home?”
The audience could then be heard cheering and clapping in response.
“Thank you so much. I know he will appreciate that a great, great deal,” he added.
