ITV’s Ant and Dec brought back their beloved show tonight and it wasn’t without a barrage of bangs and explosions.
Chatting to tonight’s guest speaker, Olly Murs, the Geordie duo quizzed The Voice UK’s coach on how excited he was to be there.
“I’m really excited,” Olly insisted, while a pyrotechnic went off.
Ant and Dec tried to get on up on the popstar, competing: “Well we’re really, really, excited.”
Two sparks shot up into the sky to illuminate the point, but the gag wasn’t over there.
Not to be outdone, Olly said he was “really, really, really” happy to be there, while three bangs lit up the stage.
Ant mock-raged: “Alright, calm it down!”
Declan Donnelly joked that they had run out of pyrotechnics and it seemed that the show could continue as planned.
However, one more sudden bang took the award-winning presenters by surprise and Ant positively jumped out of his skin.
He laughed: “That was louder than rehearsals wasn’t it!”
Olly giggled: “I found another pyro.”
Meanwhile, ITV viewers were completely overjoyed to have the show back on screens.
One posted on Twitter: “I’m absolutely buzzing for #Takeaway let’s do this.”
A second gushed: “Happy days!! #Takeaway is back!!”
Another said: “#Takeaway welcome back my lads!!! @antanddec I’ve missed your happy faces on my screen!!!!”
A fourth commented: “Get in, it’s Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night #Takeaway!”
Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway continues next Saturday on ITV at 7pm.
