Things did not go as smoothly as planned on this morning’s instalment of the BBC cooking programme.
The show took a turn for the worse after host Donal Skehan, 31, cut his finger on live television in a disastrous mishap that left him bleeding as he tried to solider on with his presenting duties.
However, events then went from bad to worse when Donal, chef Jun Tanaka and guest star Julian Clary all returned from the rooftop where they had been barbecuing for the fateful segment.
Entering the studio once more, where they joined former Great British Bake Off winner Nadiya Hussain, the group were followed by a rogue cameraman who appeared to forget where he was meant to be going.
Wandering straight through the shot in from the watching eyes of the nation, the crew member quickly realised his mistake, covering his mouth in shock as he glanced over his shoulder before scurrying quickly out of sight.
Viewers instantly picked up on the gaffe, however, and flooded to social media to mock the error.
“Shouldn’t you be behind the camera?” one asked, adding: “Car crash TV at its finest.”
“#SaturdayKitchen is an absolute shambles this morning,” a second blasted. “Presenter slices his finger open then the sound guy walks in front of the camera!”
Although many were critical of the blunder, several fans saw the funny side, with one praising: “The cameraman walking straight in from of the camera is the highlight of this whole show.”
Another was also less than impressed, quipping: :#SaturdayKitchen what would James Martin think of this? First the Irish guy cut his finger then the cameraman got lost.”
“Loving the show today,” another chipped in. “Give the cameraman some of the food!”
Saturday Kitchen airs Saturdays at 10am on BBC One.
