Sarah Parish recalls 'uncomfortable' Doctor Who and would only return on THIS condition

Sarah starred in the 2007 Christmas special as The Empress of Racnoss, a giant red spider alien intent on terrorising planet earth.

The 48-year-old, whose acting credits include Peak Practice and Cutting It, said she would only return if she was able to play a different character.

Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, she enthused: “I’d love to come back into Doctor Who and play something.

“I don’t know whether I’d be a spider again because that was pretty uncomfortable but maybe another villain, we’ll see.”

She insisted: “I’ve definitely been out long enough to go back in again.”

The Empress was killed off in the episode after vowing revenge on then-Doctor, David Tennant.

David, 45, and Sarah have worked together in television on numerous occasions over the years, most recently in ITV crime drama, Broadchurch, where she plays shop worker Cath Atwood.

Sarah explained: “I’ve known David for years. Immediately after Broadchurch we did a film together which his wife had produced called You, Me and Him.

“We’ve worked together a lot, it’s always nice to see old faces.”

Broadchurch continues tonight at 9pm on ITV, while Doctor Who returns to BBC One in April.
