Royal baby news: Zara Tindall and her bump step out at Cheltenham in red pleated coat

Zara, 36, looked fabulous as she arrived in a pleated red coat showing off her pregnancy curves.

The royal cousin to Prince Harry and Prince William smiled as she made her way through a sea of photographers to the racecourse.

Beneath her jacket, the pregnant former Olympian wore a black and white polka dot dress and over-the-knee beige boots.

Zara is pregnant with her second baby. The young royal, who is Princess Anne’s daughter and the Queen’s granddaughter, already has one daughter, Mia Tindall.

There has been speculation around whether or not the young royal is having a girl or a boy as her second child.

Ladbrokes told Express.co.uk it’s even money for a boy or a girl for the Tindalls currently, but what does science say?

According to research into data taken from 6,000 families, Zara is slightly more likely to have a boy than a girl.

This is because she has already had one girl.

More boys than girls tend to be born on the whole, which is thought to be an evolutionary trait developed in humans due to the fact that female babies are more resistant to disease than male babies.

A ratio of 51 per cent boys and 49 per cent girls is generally seen.

And it looks like the soon-to-be born youngster could have some cool God parents.

Michael Cole, royal expert and former BBC Court Correspondent, said: “It is entirely possible that the Tindalls will ask Zara’s cousin Prince Harry (or even his bride-to-be) to be a godparent.”

He remarked upon the close relationship between Harry and his cousin Zara, also known as Zara Tindall – who was introduced to her husband Mike Tindall through Harry.

“The royal cousins get on well together and appear to enjoy hanging out.”

Zara’s close relation, Camilla Duchess of Cornwall, was also spotted at the sporting event today

The 70-year-old was being thrifty and wore an outfit she had previously worn to Cheltenham.
