The star also levelled some criticism at certain Riverdale fans, who are sometimes unable to separate his personal life from that of his character.
Apa claimed: “There are times when I’m like, ‘Wow, they really have no idea that we are actual people. They can’t separate us from our characters.
“You don’t have that in other professions. You don’t dissect the life of a builder and start judging the decisions he makes in his life with his wife and kids.”
KJ Apa currently stars as a more adult Archie Andrews, after Riverdale’s fifth season took a seven year jump into the future to explore the gang’s new lives as teachers.
Riverdale season 5 continues Wednesday, March 10 on the CW and the following Thursday on Netflix.
