Riverdale season 5: Fans slam seven year time jump as Veronica and Cheryl sidelined

Plus, the revelation that her girlfriend Toni Topaz (Vanessa Morgan) was pregnant drew an indifferent response from viewers.

One more fan said: “Everyone’s plots are like Archie is a soldier, Jughead is a writer, Veronica sells jewellery and Betty is an FBI agent.

“Then it cuts to Cheryl and she’s like ‘TeeTee, I’m cursed. My family is cursed and if I stop building this house my family members will feel pain. May I paint you?’”

Riverdale experts are still predicting the show’s two core couples will switch around in the coming season, so the unpredictable drama remains essential viewing despite this week’s let down.

Riverdale season 5 continues Wednesdays on the CW and the following Thursday on Netflix.
