Riverdale season 4 spoilers: Sabrina crossover confirmed as star drops big hint?

Riverdale is an eventful town which has had a rough few years.

After a high-profile murder, a masked murderer, and a vicious board game, it couldn’t get much stranger.

However, as fans of the franchise will know, Riverdale is just over the river from Greendale – home of Sabrina Spellman (played by Kiernan Shipka).

While Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse) and Archie Andrews (KJ Apa) have been hard at work dealing with their own issues so far, fans have been wondering when the two towns’ casts would eventually meet up.

This question is exactly what Mood Magazine asked Harvey Kinkle star Ross Lynch during their interview.

And, unsurprisingly, he didn’t seem able to give anything away.

On whether he thought there would be a crossover between Riverdale and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Ross confessed: “I don’t know, we’ll see, anything is possible.

“I do like hanging out with Cole [Sprouse] and Cami [Camila Mendes] the most I would say out of that whole cast – maybe Vanessa [Morgan] too. And some of the dads on the show are pretty cool too.

“We all hang out occasionally, and that really comes down to a deal that Warner Bros. and CW would have to strike.”

He concluded: “So I don’t know, it’s possible, I think it would be fun.”

Considering the cast have already been hanging out and – presumably – have a rapport, the crossover is extremely overdue.

However it would most likely not happen anytime soon, as Sabrina is busy going to Hell to find her boyfriend.

And Jughead is about to be framed for a murder (or so it looks like) so he will certainly be wrapped up in a huge plot line on Riverdale.

Meanwhile Jughead star Cole recently spoke at the Riverdale panel at this year’s San Diego Comic Con, and teased what is to come for Jughead and Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart).

Although Betty and Jughead were on great terms when fans left them in season three, they may be forced into a tough position where their relationship is concerned.

Cole explained: “I know that Betty’s storyline is much more integrated with Charles [Wyatt Nash] than Jughead’s is – at least from what I’ve read thus far.

“But I don’t see it as — I mean, I’ve been asked a lot if it’s going to put tension into Betty and Jughead’s relationship. As of now, it doesn’t look like that’s where it’s going. But Jughead’s only in Riverdale on the weekends now.”

In season four, Jughead will be attending a different school for his final year of high-school, splitting him from his friends – presumably causing tension between them all.

He continued: “So his main storyline is the prep school, which is the sort of building blocks of the whole flash-forward thing that we’re doing with season 4, and it’s kind of the focus of the mystery this season – this very strange, elitist prep school.

“But I don’t know how much interaction Charles and Jughead are actually going to have this season.”

Riverdale season 4 returns to The CW and Netflix later this year.
