In the season one finale, fans were left with an epic cliffhanger as they saw someone shoot Fred Andrews (played by Luke Perry) at Pop’s diner.
And with the return of the hit Netflix show last week, it was revealed Fred had survived after he was rushed to hospital by his son Archie (KJ Apa).
The tense moment left many wondering who shot Fred and with a mysterious killer still on the loose in season two, the topic isn’t going away anytime soon.
But now it seems the killer’s identity may have been revealed this whole time.
On the IMDb page, fans can see the entire cast who starred in Chapter Thirteen: The Sweet Hereafter.
And the website has listed a Canadian actor Jay Clift who portrayed the ‘Gunman’.
Does this information mean the person who shot Fred isn’t any of the current characters? Will Jay be introduced as a new resident in Riverdale?
Or the entry could have simply been an error as Jay wasn’t listed as Ms Gundry’s (Sarah Habel) killer or Moose Mason (Cody Kearsley) and his girlfriend Midge Klump’s (Emilija Baranac) murderer.
The whodunnit plot has resulted in many viewers predicting who they think is the killer in Riverdale.
One person pondered: “#Riverdale thinking the killer is Kevin Keller the sheriff’s son.”
“I’m calling it: Cliff Blossom is the killer. #Riverdale,” stated another.
A third claimed: “I bet the sheriff is the killer, you heard it here first. #Riverdale.”
Riverdale season two, episode two will be available to watch on Netflix today.
