WARNING: This article contains spoilers about Riverdale season two, episode four.
The whole town of Riverdale is completely on edge with many wondering who the mystery killer will strike next.
And in the episode, Betty Cooper (played by Lili Reinhart) receives an envelope from the Black Hood which contains a cryptogram.
The unknown murderer also sent a letter to explain that her speech at the jubilee inspired his killing spree and says he is carrying out the awful atrocities for her.
After figuring out the cryptic code with boyfruend Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse), Betty discovers where the Black Hood is targeting next and rushes to the town hall where her mother Alice Cooper (Mädchen Amick) is criticising the Southside.
Betty immediately pulls the fire alarm to get everybody out and hands over the creepy letter to the police and her mother.
But in the closing scene, Betty receives a frightening call from someone claiming to be The Black Hood.
Will his identity finally be revealed? Or will Betty be the next victim?
Fans watching the tense episode were scared for Betty as one person wrote on Twitter: “@lilireinhart IM SHAKING FOR BETTY #riverdale.”
“YOU CAN’T END AN EPISODE LIKE THAT #riverdale,” exclaimed another fan of the show.
A third added: “Poor Betty! Getting a creepy call from the Black Hood. And just ending the episode like that… #Riverdale.”
One confused viewer didn’t understand the killer’s motive and wrote: “THE BLACK HOOD IS KILLING PEOPLE FOR BETTY?? WHAT THE ACTUAL HELL?? #Riverdale.”
