Has the countdown begun for the release of a new Resident Evil 2 Remake demo on PS4 and Xbox One?
That’s what fans are hoping for this week following a recent leak that suggests just that happening.
The hype surrounding the remake has built since new trailers were released in 2018. And now with less than a month to go before the exciting new project launches, fans are hoping for something special to drop.
A leak back in 2018 claimed that a new Resident Evil 2 demo would be released before the full game’s launch on PS4 and Xbox One.
An apparent Xbox Store mistake revealed that a new limited gameplay experience for Resi 2 would be launched in 2019.
To be exact, the listing claims the “Resident Evil 2 1-Shot Demo” will arrive on January 11.
And if that is true, we should start to hear something about very soon.
We can at least begin the countdown before the launch of the Resident Evil 2 Demo.
Nothing official has been said on the matter, but it would be a great move on the part of Capcom.
The original game did something similar when Resi 2 was launching, providing a demo disc of action.
This offered a taste of gameplay with Leon up to the first encounter with a Licker Monster at the Racoon City Police Department.
So there is hope Capcom will offer something like for their Resident Evil 2 Remake on consoles.
According to information connected to the leak, players will be able to die as many times as they want during the demo.
However, it will also be limited to a 30-minute timeframe, meaning that the Resi 2 demo will have specific limits in place.
It’s also unclear if the “1-Shot” demo title refers to it being available to play only once, or if it is pointing to something different.
It also looks like the new demo will only be available to download until the end of January when it will be take off the console storefront.
It should be noted that all of this information comes from leaks, meaning it must be taken with a pinch of salt.
And if something like this is in the works for PS4 and Xbox One, we should hear something very soon from Capcom.
A reported description from the listing reads: “This specially tuned demo allows you to experience the newly reimagined Resident Evil 2, but be warned: whilst you can continue as many times as you like after dying, you’ll only have 30 MINUTES to complete the demo.”
“Take in the horror atmosphere at your own pace, or make a desperate dash to solve all the puzzles Raccoon Police Department has to offer? The choice is yours!
“Originally released in 1998, Resident Evil 2, one of the most iconic games of all time, returns completely reimagined for next-gen consoles.
“Play individual campaigns for both Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield using an all-new 3rd person view.
“Explore the zombie-infested areas of Raccoon City, now stunningly re-built using Capcom’s proprietary RE Engine.
“New puzzles, storylines and areas Note: This demo is available until 1/31/2019. You must be signed in and have an active internet connection to play.”
