Report: Rapper Prodigy of Mobb Deep Dead at 42

Really sad news: according to TMZ, Albert Johnson — better known as Prodigy, the rapper who was one half of Mobb Deep — has died in Las Vegas at the age of only 42. TMZ isn’t the most reliable of sources, but its piece quotes Prodigy’s publicist, who said explained that the rapper was hospitalized “a few days ago in Vegas after a Mobb Deep performance for complications caused by a sickle cell anemia crisis. As most of his fans know, Prodigy battled the disease since birth.” No cause of death has yet been confirmed. More news if/when we get it.
