Red Sparrow: WATCH Jennifer Lawrence as a Russian spy in new thriller (EXCLUSIVE clip)

Jennifer Lawrence plays a Russian spy in the film, alongside Joel Edgerton.

In this particular scene, Edgerton’s Nate talks of “young officers trained to seduce and manipulate” – to which Lawrence’s Dominika reveals her experience of being blackmailed into becoming a Sparrow.

She’s seen showcasing a slick Russian accent for the role, while Australian Edgerton goes American.

Red Sparrow has received fairly positive reviews, and has performed reasonably at the box office – comfortably besting Lawrence’s last movie, Mother!.

Charlotte Rampling, who also stars, recently spoke about what Lawrence was like to work with.

“She is in a film world that I am not in, which is the big machine,” she told The Independent.

“When she decided to do Hunger Games, she realised she was going into a very big world – and you don’t probably realise how big that is.

“But she has remained… very sweet.”

Rampling added: “The problem is about how you keep that; how do you keep yourself within a world like that, because it is so big.

“She is the highest paid female actor, and these are huge productions. She is constantly surrounded by people… she is the girl in the middle of it all.”

Red Sparrow is out now.
