Land Rover is close to revealing a new plug-in hybrid version of the Range Rover Evoque by as early as 2018.
The launch of the new PHEV will coincide with the introduction of a new three-cylinder 1.5-litre petrol engine.
Second-generation Evoque PHEV SUV will be powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine which is mated to an electric motor.
This combination will improve emissions output, performance and allow full zero-emissions driving.
The lithium-ion battery, that will be used on the new Evoque PHEV, will mirror the one first debuted in 2015on the Concept e.
Information about the new Evoque PHEV was reported on by Autocar who found out that the new versions at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2017 last week.
It will join PHEV versions of the new Range Rover and Range Rover Sport and use a petrol-electric set-up opposed to diesel-electric combination.
Currently no official statements have been made about the introduction of the new electrified models.
However, earlier this year Land Rover stated that all cars will feature an electrified variant from 2020.
The car manufacturer join company’s such as Honda and Volvo committing to electrified vehicles over the next few years.
