The Queen, 90, and Camilla Parker Bowles have officially been family members since 2005, when Camilla finally married life-long love interest Prince Charles.
However, Camilla, now 70, had a long history with the royal family before she married the Prince, 68.
The pair had a highly publicised affair when Prince Charles was married to the late Princess Diana.
Camilla herself was also married to Andrew Parker Bowles, who she has two children with, Tom Parker Bowles and Laura Lopes.
During her years by Charles side, whether now during their marriage or in private, Camilla appears to have studied the Queen’s fashionable approach to dressing.
Was this a bid to prove herself worthy to join the royal family by marrying her sweetheart?
Express.co.uk charted a number of outfits worn by the Duchess of Cornwall that bear a striking similarity to those the Queen has stepped out in.
In 1994 the Queen notably wore an eye-catching purple and red tartan look to the Breamar Games in Scotland. In February this year Camilla wore an almost identical tartan suit skirt in London.
Camilla has adopted the Queen’s favourite colours on a number of occasions, including one of her Majesty’s spring favourites, lemon.
The Queen wore a lemon floral print coat over a dress with pearls and white court shoes to Ascot in 2007.
In in 2014 Camilla wore a very similar shade, with almost identical shoes but in tan leather, to accompany Prince Charles in Colombia.
Camilla also channelled a look worn by the Queen in Nottingham in 2012 when she stepped out in sky blue, pearls and a hat decorated with a large flower in Kings Lynn in 2015.
Even the Queen’s earlier, and more reissue fashion looks have inspired the Duchess of Cornwall.
A polkadot, off-the-shoulder dress work by the Queen in Bombay in 1961 is very similar to a navy from worn by Camilla in Wales in 2005 – and both women clutch chic handbags and don pearls with their 50s inspired dresses.
Lastly, a favourite accessory of the Queen has not gone unappropriated by Camilla.
Both have been seen wearing stylish headscarves, knotted under their chins.
The Queen was spotted wearing one in 2016 at Kings Lynn, while Camilla wore hers in Canada in 2017.
Will Camilla ever become the Queen of Britain?
Prince Charles married the Duchess of Cornwall more than a decade ago and some believe that he intends to make her Queen Camilla one day.
This would mark a reversal of a previous plan, dating back to their 2005 marriage, to style her as Princess Consort instead.
A shocking Sunday Express poll has found that the majority of Britain will not accept Camilla becoming Queen.
