Developers at Bluehole Inc. are performing scheduled maintenance tonight that’s going to leave a lot of players on the sidelines.
PUBG Servers are down for the next three hours, meaning that a lot of prime time playing in certain regions is being eaten up.
Battlegrounds status will be offline until around 5am, UK, or 9pm PST.
“PC players, our live servers are now down for maintenance and we expect the maintenance to last for 3 hours. Apologies for the inconvenience,” the PUBG Twitter account confirms.
There’s the chance that this period of maintenance could be completed before the stated 3-hours, which has happened in the past.
There have been other times when the development team have needed an extra hour or two as well, so fans will want to keeping checking the official social media channels for news.
Bluehole Inc. has also confirmed that this latest PUBG downtime will not end with big changes to the game, although players will have to download a small patch.
No new content is being added with this latest maintenance, instead, changes are being implemented the PUBG backend systems.
A new test build is being worked on, however, this won’t be ready for live launch today.
This next update will be going to test servers first, and looks set to include some big changes.
“We are going to be introducing an in-game friend system, voice chat in main menu and vehicle and limb penetration system,” a Bluehole Inc. message explains.
“We are going to need your feedback on all the new features, especially the new penetration system, so please join our test servers later this week. Detailed patch notes will be posted in a couple of days.”
