PSN Down: PS4 servers offline as Sony confirm gaming and social status

Players first started to report problems accessing core features within the last hour.

And now Sony have confirmed PSN status issues, concerning core gaming and social features.

PSN down over an hour. Can’t do anything on my PS4 that’s internet related,” one user commented.

“Tried to use Netflix and it kicked me offline, and before that tried to make a party and it kicked me from PSN.

Other users have reported being able to access online games, but not being able to invite friends, or use their friends list.

The latest update from Sony confirms that there are problems with the PSN tonight, which will affect core gaming and social services.

“You may have some difficulty launching games, applications, or online features,” Sony reports.

“Our engineers are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible, and we thank you for your patience.”

Luckily for PS3 and PS Vita users, it appears these devices are not affected by tonight’s problems.

Looking at the most recent outage maps, it appears that the worst affected area is Europe, which has the highest report rate.

Sony have also confirmed that they are looking into the issues tonight and are hoping to have them solved as quickly as possible.
