Need for Speed Payback support for the PS4 Pro was confirmed today following its full reveal during Saturday’s EA Play event.
The new racing title is coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC on November 10, 2017, and will also support Project Scorpio.
News of both was revealed by Need for Speed: Payback executive producer Marcus Nilsson, who also answered questions on a potential version for the Nintendo Switch.
“I love the Switch; I absolutely adore it,” he told Gamespot.
“Would that be a platform that Need for Speed: Payback could run on? I don’t see why [not], but it’s not something we’re looking to at this very moment,” he revealed.
It sounds like a pretty strong no for the time being, with not much incentive for developers Ghost Games to return at a later date.
Need for Speed Payback on the PS4 Pro is one of the first big announcements for Sony’s upgraded console.
There’s going to be plenty more coming this week too, with Bethesda, Ubisoft and finally Sony, likely to confirm new projects for the machine.
A new Need for Speed Payback trailer was shown during the EA Play event on Saturday, giving a new glimpse at some of the gameplay being worked on, including a big highway heist.
“The crew (Tyler, Jess and Mac) have learned that The House are transporting a car equipped with a new piece of technology that may be a key component in bringing them down. This calls for one thing: acquire the car, get hold of the tech and dent The House’s plans.”
“The Highway Heist is one of the set piece moments that takes place within Need for Speed Payback’s single player campaign, which follows the story of Tyler, Jess and Mac as they set out to bring down The House.
“Alongside the Highway Heist and other memorable moments you’ll be able to build your perfect ride. Customize the car of your dreams, both visually and its performance, into one of five distinct car classes; Race, Drift, Off-Road, Drag and Runner.
“Turn a piece of scrap into a piece of art, and use it to tear up the streets and countryside of Fortune Valley.”
