The PS4 maintenance continues tonight following a very large PSN server outage earlier today.
Fans are still seeing maintenance warning when they try and log back in, with Sony’s official site confirming that most services are still down.
The only one not registered as having issues is PlayStation Vue, which appears to still be functioning.
A message from the Sony PlayStation support team confirms: “You may have some difficulty launching games, applications, or online features.
“Our engineers are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible, and we thank you for your patience.”
This warning is in place for PS4, PS3 and PS Vita users tonight, who are still reporting problems connecting to games.
Some of the biggest ones affected are Fortnite Battle Royale and Rocket League, which show a lot of reports of server outages.
But as confirmed by the Fortnite support team, these new issues are largely connected to the current PSN server outage, and isn’t a core problem with the game.
The latest from the PlayStation support team reads: “We are aware that some users are having issues accessing PSN. Thank you for your patience as we investigate.”
There have been no reports on what has caused tonight’s server outages, which began around the sametime as when the new Call of Duty event went live, and Overwatch skins were released.
“I just looked at the outage map and its worse than it was 2 hrs ago. All that red showing up all over the US,” one fan commented.
It’s probably still possible to play games offline if you have your PS4 already up-to-date and haven’t tried accessing core online services tonight.
It appears that this latest PSN outage is affecting a lot of gamers around the globe, although hopes are high that a fix will be deployed very soon.
