Princess Charlotte wears BUDGET cardigan for birthday portrait – THIS is where to get it

The item of knitwear sold out instantly following the release of the portrait, and the reason why is for its incredible price.

The fairisle knitted cardigan is from high street retailer John Lewis.

It’s already sold out on the store’s website, but there are similar items of bargain knitwear ready to be snapped up.

A similar pink version of the cardigan is available in size newborn, priced at just £10.

There’s also a yellow jumper covered in sheep, currently available in limited sizes, with a starting price of £11.

Monsoon also has a yellow cardigan with sheep in its spring range.

It’s currently available online, with sizes ranging from 0-3 months to 2-3 years, and has been discounted from £24 to £19.20.

Kensington Palace released a statement to go with the portrait.

It said: “The Duke and Duchess are very pleased to share this photograph as they celebrate Princess Charlotte’s second birthday.

“Their Royal Highnesses would like to thank everyone for all of the lovely messages they have received, and hope that everyone enjoys the photograph of Princess Charlotte as much as they do.”

Charlotte’s privacy has been carefully guarded by her parents and during the past year, she has only been seen in public on a handful of occasions.

Her most recent appearance was on Christmas Day when she attended a church service close to the home of her grandparents Carole and Michael Middleton in the Berkshire village of Bucklebury.

Princess Charlotte is just as fashion-forward as her mother, Kate Middleton, who wore a £600 red Armani suit last week.
