Preventing illness will save NHS

PREVENTING serious illness before a patient needs to see a doctor is “the secret to the NHS’s long term sustainability”, as it would save billions of pounds, a medical chief has warned. Writing in the Sunday Express, Dr Kailash Chand, the honorary vice president of the British Medical Association, claimed nine out of 10 modern diseases could be avoided through education.
