Niantic has finally announced the launch of the new Pokemon from the Sinnoh region in Pokemon Go.
There are a total of seven Pokemon Go chains with Gen 4 evolutions currently available to catch and evolve.
The new Gen 4 types can now be found in the wild, although they come with a catch that most Trainers will be familiar with.
While all 100 new Pokemon are in the game files, they are not all available to catch right now.
Instead, the new Gen 4 types from Sinnoh will be released in waves, so don’t expect to see them all in one go.
Fans have so far found around 23 Pokemon from the Sinnoh region roaming the wilds and found in eggs, with more expected soon.
Those Gen 4 Pokemon that can be found now and come with their own evolutions include:
- Turtwig, Grotle, Torterra
- Starly, Staravia, Staraptor
- Piplup, Prinplup, Empoleon
- Chimchar, Monferno, Infernape
- Bidoof, Bibarel
- Buneary, Lopunny
- Cricketot, Kricketune
The other Pokemon that haven’t been released yet will come in waves, so it looks like Trainers will be waiting until December before they get access to the majority of the new Pokemon.
The other Pokemon that don’t have any confirmed evolutions in the game and are available to catch now, include:
- Chatot
- Carnivine
- Pachirisu
- Riolu
- Luxio
It should be noted that some of these new Pokemon will require being hatched from an egg, or could be regionally locked to certain areas.
There’s also the chance that some Legendary and special types will be held back for special events.
Will new Ghost and Dark-type Pokemon be made available during Halloween? It seems likely this will be Niantic’s plan.
“The world of Pokémon GO is evolving once again!” Niantic explains in a new message to fans.
“This week, keep an eye out for Pokémon originally discovered in the Sinnoh region, featured in Pokémon Diamond, Pokémon Pearl, and Pokémon Platinum.
