Holly, a flight attendant from South Wales, appeared on the BBC quiz with her sister Jordan, in the hope of clinching the £1,000 jackpot, which was later bumped up to £2,000.
As is customary, the four couples introduced themselves right at the beginning by giving their names and saying where they were from.
“I’m Holly, my full-name is Holly May Jasmine Gillingham Football Club Gould,” Holly explained. “And this is my sister Jordan and we’re from a town in South Wales called Aberdare.”
Alexander then went to introduce his “Pointless friend” Richard, who could not help but comment on Holly’s bizarre revelation.
He laughed: “Now, every now and again when we have our introductions from our people, something is raised which we have to address immediately. I would say Holly’s name needs to be addressed immediately.
“I wonder if it’s showboating on her part or showboating on her parents’ part. Something is definitely up.”
Luckily for Richard, he did not have to wait long as Holly was first to play and Alexander wasted no time in asking her about the reason behind the League One team being added to her name.
She laughed: “My dad went to register me. I was supposed to be Holly May Jasmine and I think he just put Gillingham Football Club in for a laugh.
“On my passport they can only fit “GFC” and I like to fill it out on most documents so people ask me.”
Jordan’s middle name was later revealed to be “Angharad”, with Alexander remarking that she had “dodged a bullet”.
Pointless airs weekdays at 5.15pm on BBC One.
