Pointless fans lash out at the BBC over this ‘cheap and dated’ Anna Soubry MP question

The episode was met with barrage of hate online over a question about the “current” government, which actually wasn’t very current at all.

Alexander Armstrong asked: “Name a 2015 post-election Conservative cabinet member.”

After the team of players gave their respective answers, Richard Osman went through some of the Pointless answers, with one being Anna Soubry – the Minister for Small Business from 2015 until 2016, who has since returned to the backbench.

Many fans lashed out at the question over social media and they certainly didn’t hold back.

Contestant Tim had just got a question right, leading Richard, 46, to congratulate him: “Well, played Tim and if you agree to climb a mountain you assent to ascent.”

His co-star cheekily quipped: “That’s right or if you agree to release a fragrance, which I’ve just done.”

Pointless airs weekdays at 5.15pm on BBC One.
