Sony will soon reveal their latest batch of games that will be offered as free downloads for PlayStation Plus July 2018.
Each month sees a new range of PS Plus games put together for PS4, PS3 and PS Vita, with subscribers able to add them to their digital libraries.
So far we haven’t had any leaks giving us a sneak peek at what Sony have planned for July 2018.
Past months have seen rogue online ads go live days before the announcement, so it will be worth keeping an eye this week.
And if nothing does appear, fans won’t have to wait long to find out from the official source.
Sony have got into the rhythm of announcing the PS Plus games lineup on the last wednesday of the month, which just so happens to be fast approaching.
Wednesday, June 27, looks like the date we’ll find out what titles will be following June’s top lineup of free games, which includes XCOM 2 and Trials Fusion.
Last year was a pretty good month for PlayStation Plus too, with Sony offering up the exclusive Until Dawn and Telltale’s Game of Thrones for PS4.
Tokyo Jungle and Darkstalkers Resurrection were offered on PS3, with Element4l and Don’t Die, Mr. Robot completing the PS Vita roster.
In terms of predictions and wishlists, first-party releases like Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and The Last of Us Remastered would be welcome additions to PS Plus.
Sony has already pulled out a few other first-party exclusives this year, making the likes of Bloodborne, Ratchet & Clank and Knack free to PS Plus subscribers.
While the announcement will be made on June 27, the game themselves will not be available to download until early July.
Tuesday July 3, will be the day the PlayStation Store is refreshed and both XCOM 2 and Trials Fusions are replaced.
Even before then, fans will have the chance of trialing some new games on their PS4.
In celebration of the recent launch of The Summer Sideshow: Treacherous Skies update, Tripwire Interactive is hosting a free weekend of action on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
From today onward, players can join in on the free weekend for Killing Floor 2, which is scheduled to end on Monday, June 25.
PlayStation Plus members can download and play Killing Floor 2 for free via the PlayStation Plus Game Trials Program.
It should be noted that the content you have downloaded as part of your PlayStation Plus subscription at no charge is only accessible as long as you are an active subscriber.
The exceptions are free themes and avatars, which you will continue to have access to, even if you are no longer a subscriber.
Anything you have purchased (even if you purchased it at a discount) will remain available to you even if your subscription ends.
Also, different countries have different rights, release schedules and, have different things available in their PlayStation Store for this reason.
So this is why you may hear about different games being available in Asia, Europe and North America, when it comes to some PS Plus announcements.
Even following the official announcement this week, fans will still have plenty of time to grab the current batch of PS Plus games before they disappear.
This month’s PlayStation Plus lineup also includes:
- XCOM 2, PS4
- Trials Fusion, PS4
- Zombie Driver HD, PS3
- Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, PS3
- Atomic Ninjas, PS Vita
- Squares, PS Vita
