Lord Howard insisted that Prime Minister Theresa May would negotiate a bespoke deal for the country to leave the European Union.
He explained: “The European Union is a flawed project, the negotiations were always going to be difficult.
“But we are going to get what we want, which is a bespoke deal… we are going to have it because they want our money.”
But Lord Adonis disagreed, claiming that Britain already had a bespoke deal within the European Union and we should vote once more on whether or not we want to leave Brussels.
Laughing at Lord Adonis’ hopes for a second referendum, Piers Morgan quipped: “You do realise we’re leaving the European Union.”
As the Labour peer tried to explain himself, the 52-year-old continued: “Let me explain!
“We had a referendum and we voted to leave. You’re talking in a deluded fashion.”
Lord Howard echoed Piers’ comments, adding: “You put all of these points in the referendum debate and you lost.”
Lord Adonis continued to argue: “The British public want to see what the deal is.”
“No! This is the position of Lord Adonis and I do appreciate that you’re sticking to your deluded guns,” Piers hit back.
Again, Lord Howard agreed with Piers, noting: “I have total confidence in the Prime Minister.
“I believe she will lead us through this difficult process to leave.”
“Her position is weak,” Lord Adonis exclaimed. “The British public want the final position on how we leave.”
Clearly exasperated, Piers snapped back: “No polls have said that.”
