Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were joined by a number of guests on This Morning to talk about the Prime Minister’s announcement last night that all UK schools would close tomorrow because of coronavirus. However, fans were left distracted by host Phillip because he wouldn’t take his hands out of his pockets, but he has now addressed the issue.
Holly and Phillip welcomed a whole new audience today because of the huge number of people across the UK who have been asked to work from home in the hopes of slowing the spread of coronavirus.
Before the two could continue with the show, Phillip addressed something that fans had found distracting.
The host revealed people had been asking why his hands were constantly in his pockets.
He quickly explained: “You should never present with your hands in your pockets, you get shouted at a lot.
“And people have said, ‘Why are you standing with your hands in your pockets?’
“Because I know where they are. So I’m not touching my face.”

Holly chipped in: “Oh, I wish I had some pockets now. I want to touch my face.”
The presenters were determined to give the audience some positive news amongst the mass uncertainty at the moment.
At the beginning of the show Phillip said: “We are going to keep smiling and we are on a mission today to make you smile.
“We’ve been hunting around, we had this idea a few days ago, and we’ve found some of our favourite viral videos.”
The clips were enough to cheer the viewers up who are having to self-isolate for one reason or another.
One viewer tweeted: “@thismorning Watching @AlisonHammond today has cheered me right up!“
Another added: “This must be one of the funniest videos ever on This Morning.”
“@AlisonHammond Is just PURE GOLD at a time like this! Just when i couldn’t love her anymore she has me belly laughing in what feels the greatest time of fear and uncertainty,” said another.
