“No,” Nigel replied. “I really don’t think we should. If I thought there was a vaccine coming on February 1st then the argument for lockdown would be quite logical.
“There is no guarantee of any such thing. The sheer damage lockdown is doing to people’s physical wellbeing, mental health, their jobs, their finances, the nation’s finances.
“We simply can’t go on like this, if you’re vulnerable shield. I’d love us to have a track and trace system that works but so far we appear to have spent £12 billion with very poor reward.”
“We have to learn to live with this virus of that I’m certain,” he added.
